Wire Technology
With almost 40 years of experience behind us, CROMA is today renown as the world expert in the hot wire cutting technology. Has gained notoriety as well with its high quality machines. Reliable teams, efficiency and software intelligence with FAOMA. The latter one not only programs the movement of the CNC hot wire foam cutting. Can also convert your STL (for 3 D parts) or DXF and PLT (for 2 D parts) files. That the cut is optimized in the raw material block.
Discover below our range of CNC Cutting machines, from the small CRAFTSMAN series used occasionally or in small structures (such as schools). The largest heavy INDUS series operating continuously and bespoke to your needs.
Main series of machines
When CROMA starts its activities in 1984 Jacques Crouet the co-founder. Built its very first hotwire cutting machine driven by a computer: the CANON X07. That made him a forerunner in this technology.
CROMA now offers 5 main series of machines. Each designed for specific needs and available in different sizes. Number of options can be added to the machines. User has the features he needs but does not pay for adds-on he will never use. One can simply cut straight boards from a block. Other will make twisted columns or a full size elephant. Every machine is manufactured and assembled in our factory from A to Z. The cutting, drilling and tapping of our aluminum profiles, the whole electrical and electronical cabinet as well as the production of the table and guidance. We control the entire manufacturing process from machine design to final equipment testing.
The CNC hot wire foam cutting, so called for Computer Numerical Control, is driven by a program. This same program comes from a software that integrates the machine’s features and the specificities of the process. The software will set all the movements of the arms carrying the cutting wire.
